To a large degree our success will be determined by the coaching that you get from your sponsor, particularly if you are new to the business. Its a shame but there are many self proclaimed mlm coaches out there that simply don’t come up with the training that they promise. I have come across many people that have told me about their less than helpful upline, soon after joining with them the upline magically vanishes. This kind of behaviour is one of the reasons why the mlm industry has got a bad name even still to this day due to the many people who have been ripped off.
Have you experienced a hideaway sponsor before? If so then I really do feel for you. In my very first MLM company I experienced that same thing. At that time I was not qualified as direct distributor therefore my payments went through my sponsor and it became difficult to actually get my money! After making several phone calls chasing my payments I eventually had to pay them a visit in order to get paid! Luckily I was paid then.
So what should we look for in an MLM mentor and sponsor?
Look for a sponsor that knows what they are doing and already has a profitable business otherwise they won’t be able to teach you how to be profitable, observe how they present themselves, you should be able to get a pretty good idea if they are determined and hold good personal values and morals. You want ideally to find someone who has a larger and more powerful vision than you do, by spending time observing them you too can increase your vision for your future to greater heights than you could possibly imagine before. Its also important that you partner with someone that has an effective recruitment system in place that you can duplicate, especially if you are marketing online.
Especially important if you are looking for an online mentor is that you find someone is easy to contact, there are some folks who like to hide behind their computer. Regardless of what anyone says Network Marketing is all about connecting with other people and even if you are operating mostly online you still need to be willing to make phone calls! It’s always worth putting a proposed mentor to the test, get them to call you, ask them some questions about the business, it will help you gauge how helpful they are. Just remember not to waste their time with trivia, they should be far too busy for that. Make certain to establish between you what training will be offered to you once you have joined up.
From my experience I have always found the best uplines to be those that give the most value to their prospects before they sign up. Before you even sign up them you will feel like an expert from all the knowledge that they have passed on to you via free training materials. Rather than thinking about how much money they can make out of you, these uplines will be genuinely concerned about your personal success in the business. Certainly there are some people that just love seeing other folks succeed as a result of their training.
Of course MLM has had its fair share of scams and you must exercise caution when looking for an MLM coach, but there are plenty of good folks around.

The genuine gurus are making oodles of money from their enterprises ; they are not trying to scalp newcomers for money. If someone wants a huge amount for their course, don’t buy it. There’s not anything they could possibly be giving for a huge price, which others don’t for a ton less – unless they’re offering a whole life supply of qualified leads!
Once you’ve learned, read and implemented your chosen course, you’ll need to get arranged. The day on which you get your first lead is the day on which you should start to look for some software to get yourself organized. You are going to want to keep lots of well-organized info to help when you have forgotten those first leads, and you’ll also need something to help you once you start hiring a downline. Payments and products must be tracked and all of your notes and everything else that comes into play with a successful MLM or network marketing business.
There are loads of free MLM software products out there too. I’m always stunned at the things given away for free, but of course some come with strings attached, while many do not. Try every one out for size until you find something you like, it’s easier to do it when you are starting, because when you start getting leads, you will be too busy with other stuff.
