You cannot expand your farm without having neighbours, by expanding your farm you have more land to grow crops and therefore more scope to earn even more Farmville points. Buying buildings will cost you in Farmville coins but they are one of the best ways to earn a large amount of points. You earn these points because once you purchase a building you then have to construct it. During the construction process you are awarded extra points.
